Barking Dog Alarm for Homes, Garages & Sheds
K9-Alert is a motion-activated barking dog alarm for Australian homes, garages, shops, sheds, rentals and driveways. It works without Wi-Fi, an app, a hub or a monthly fee. A$99.95 with free AU shipping, 30-day returns and a 1-year warranty.
- Realistic barking deterrent with sound up to 110dB.
- Remote arm, disarm and SOS alarm control.
- Portable setup for entry points, garages, shops and sheds.
How it works
Place the wireless sensor near the approach. When motion is detected, the receiver plays realistic barking up to 110dB so the property sounds occupied before entry.

Questions before you order
Does K9-Alert need Wi-Fi or an app?
No. K9-Alert works offline without Wi-Fi, a phone app, a smart home hub or a subscription. Power it on and it runs.
Where should I place the motion sensor?
Place it 0–7 m from the protected area, within the 110° detection arc. Position it where movement starts — a front door, side gate, garage entry, shed or shop doorway — not right at the entry itself.
How far can the sensor be from the receiver?
The sensor communicates wirelessly with the receiver up to approximately 200 m in open space. Walls and obstructions reduce this range. In most homes one room of separation works fine.
Can renters use it?
Yes. The kit includes adhesive mounting pads so it can be positioned without drilling or hard wiring. Always follow your lease agreement if you attach anything to walls.
Can the sensor be used outdoors — for example on a driveway?
Yes, in sheltered outdoor positions. Mount it under an eave, covered porch, carport or garage entrance and it handles normal nearby rain without issue. For a driveway, fix it under a carport or eave and aim it across the driveway approach rather than pointing into open sky. Avoid positions where rain hits the sensor directly for extended periods, or where strong direct sunlight shines onto the lens all day.
What batteries does it need?
The motion sensor uses 3×AAA batteries. The speaker receiver uses 4×AA batteries. Both can also run from the included USB power cable instead.
Can one receiver work with two sensors — for example front and back of the house?
Yes. One receiver works with multiple sensors at the same time. A sensor near the front entry and another near the back entrance will both trigger the same receiver inside — no second siren needed for most homes. Up to 8 sensors can pair to one receiver using the selectable encoding settings on the units. If you want the alarm sound in an additional room, a second receiver can be paired to the same sensors. Email support for pairing help.
Can sunlight, animals or movement outside my property trigger it?
Yes, occasionally. K9-Alert uses PIR motion detection — the same technology in common security lights — which detects body heat and movement. Possums, cats or dogs can trigger it, as can direct sunlight on the lens, nearby heat vents or plants moving across the detection arc. With good placement — sheltered from direct sun, aimed across the approach path and angled slightly downward — realistic false triggers are around 1–2 per week. Email support@k9alert.com.au with a photo of your placement if you are getting more than that.
Can I adjust the sensor sensitivity or detection range?
There is no sensitivity dial — the detection zone is fixed at roughly 0–7 m across a 110° arc. Placement controls the effective range: aim it across the approach rather than head-on to reduce the trigger depth; raise it slightly and tilt it downward to reduce small-animal pickup near the ground; and keep it shaded from direct sunlight and away from heat sources or moving plants. For a back yard with a nearby walkway, mount the sensor so the detection cone covers your yard boundary rather than pointing toward the public path.
Does it replace locks, cameras or a monitored alarm?
No. K9-Alert is an audible deterrent — the barking is designed to make a property sound occupied and discourage an intruder before entry is attempted. Use it alongside practical security basics such as locks, lighting and sensible storage of valuables.
What is your return policy?
Orders include a 30-day money-back guarantee from delivery. Email support before sending anything back. Change-of-mind return shipping is paid by the customer and returned items must include the original packaging, product and all accessories. Your Australian Consumer Law rights still apply.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. At checkout you can choose Afterpay to split your order into 4 interest-free fortnightly payments, or pay with Zip — both appear as payment options alongside card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Approval and limits are handled by the provider, and your kit still ships on the same dispatch timeline as any other order.
How do I get support after purchase?
Email support@k9alert.com.au with your order email and a photo or short description of where you want to place the unit.
